The striking green-colored chipped glass
panels set in polished brass piping provide a beautiful accent
against the gilded carvings, decorative brass collars and
silver-grey case finish. This popular wood finish was achieved
by staining the rift-cut Oak veneer black, while leaving the
pores (or grain) of the wood clean and open. Next, a silver-grey
colored glazing compound was rubbed into the pores of the wood,
with all excess glaze wiped away. Once the glaze had set, a
final coat of lacquer or varnish was applied for protection. |
